I want too tell a story about my Lil Brother, sometimes I still can't sleep at night. The memories of the past hurt deep in my soul. I can remember my lol Brother and Lashawn were celebrating being the number one crew out there, were untouchable and invincible. It was like the enemy came out of the moon and hit us with a devastating blow, we're always prepared for anything or anybody. Gang task forces wanted us so bad and the streets did also. I can remember how we stayed 10 steps ahead of everything that could hit us, or so we thought. Ican remember the last time we spoke it's taken me it was almost 26 years ago, it took a great part of me and I've never been the same ever since. Alvin was the toughest person you could have protecting you, if you had a problem with me he had a problem with you. T
Table of contents
- 1The Reign of the InvincibleWe were the kings of the street, Alvin and I. Our crew, untouchable. We felt invincible, always a step ahead. The streets and the task force wanted us, but we were ready for anything. Or so we thought.
- 2Shadows from the MoonThen, the unthinkable. An enemy, appearing from nowhere, struck with devastating force. It shattered our world, our confidence. We were prepared for the known, but this was beyond anything we could have imagined.
- 3Always Ten Steps AheadWe lived by a code of vigilance, always anticipating the next move. Law enforcement, rivals – we outmaneuvered them all. Our reputation was built on staying ahead, on never being caught off guard. We believed we were masters of our domain.
- 4The Last CallTwenty-six years ago, I spoke to Alvin for the last time. A conversation I replay endlessly. It was a moment that carved a permanent scar, a turning point that irrevocably altered the course of my life. The weight of that final call is immense.
- 5Alvin's ShieldAlvin was more than a brother; he was my protector. His loyalty was absolute, his courage unwavering. If anyone dared cross me, they faced Alvin. He was the fiercest guardian, a force to be reckoned with for anyone who threatened his own.
- 6The Unseen HandThe enemy's identity remained a mystery, their motives unclear. Were they rivals, or something more organized? The uncertainty fueled the fear, adding another layer to the trauma. This unknown enemy changed everything.
- 7Flight and RegretAfter the devastation, LaShawn and I fled, running thousands of miles. The guilt of leaving, of not being there, still haunts me. I separated from her, fearing for her safety, a decision that weighs heavily on my soul.
- 8A Debt to SocietyIn 2021, LaShawn helped me build a nonprofit. It's my way of giving back, of trying to atone for the past. It's a powerful creation, born from shared experience and a desire to make amends. I owe her so much.
- 9Echoes in the DustThe pain of Alvin's loss is a constant companion. A part of me died with him that day. The memories, though painful, are all I have left. His absence is a void that can never be filled, a silence that echoes through the years.
