The air in the small, hidden chamber hummed with a strange, discordant energy, a testament to the wizard's unsettling magic. Elara, Finn, and Leo, huddled together, their faces etched with a mixture of grim determination and dawning understanding, traced the faint, pulsing lines of arcane power that snaked across the ancient stones. It was here, in this forgotten annex of the wizard’s crumbling fortress, that they hoped to find a weakness, a crack in his formidable defenses.
“It’s… it’s like a web,” Finn whispered, his fingers hovering just above a particularly intricate knot of shimmering light. He was usually the most composed, his mind a steel trap for magical theory, but even he looked unsettled. “Not just a spell, but a network. It feeds on something.”
Leo, ever the direct one, grunted. “Feeds on what? Dust bunnies and cobwebs?” He nudged a loose stone with his boot, the sound echoing unnervingly in the confined space.
