The air thrummed with a silent promise, a symphony only Kael and I could hear. The biting wind, which had once promised only hardship, now felt like a lover’s caress against my skin. We stood on the precipice, not of a cliff, but of a life unwritten, a tapestry woven with threads of our own choosing. His hand, calloused but gentle, held mine, a sanctuary against the storm that had raged within and around me.

“An unwritten forever,” Kael murmured, his voice a low rumble that vibrated through me, chasing away the last vestiges of fear. But standing here, with Kael’s strength anchoring me, I felt a freedom so profound it was intoxicating.
