The air in the abandoned warehouse clung to me, thick with the metallic tang of fear and something far older, something that seeped from the damp concrete and rusting steel. Each breath was a shallow, ragged thing, doing little to quell the tremor that ran through my limbs. I was a prisoner, not just of these four walls, but of the chilling realization that my world, the one I’d so carefully rebuilt, had shattered into a thousand jagged pieces. Aryan. It was always Aryan, wasn’t it? The man who was both my deepest solace and the architect of my deepest dread.

The heavy door groaned open, splintering the oppressive silence. My heart leaped into my throat, a frantic bird trapped in a cage. Was it them again? The men who had snatched me from the familiar comfort of my life, their faces masked by a cruel indifference? But then, a silhouette, tall and broad-shouldered, filled the doorway. Even in the gloom, I knew him. The way he held himself, the sheer force of his presence that seemed to bend the very air around him. Aryan.

He stepped inside, his eyes, dark and fathomless, scanning the room, then finding me. They were alight with a ferocity I’d never witnessed before, a storm brewing behind their depths. He moved with a predator’s grace, each step deliberate, confident, yet laced with an urgency that belied his calm exterior. He was here for me. The thought was a desperate, flickering ember of hope in the suffocating darkness.
