Chapters

  1. 1Chapter 1Eleanor Vance arrives at the Blackhood home, a sprawling Victorian estate inherited from a great-aunt she never knew. She is greeted by Mr. Silas Croft, the estate's enigmatic caretaker, who warns her about the house's dark history. Eleanor explores the home and discovers a locked room with a chilling presence, leading to a disturbing premonition. Detective Isabella Rossi arrives to investigate a past incident, and the chapter ends with Eleanor finding a hidden diary that hints at deeper secrets.
  2. 2Chapter 2Eleanor begins reading the diary, discovering disturbing entries about the house's hunger and her great-aunt's experiments. Detective Rossi returns with files on missing persons, and together they find a hidden room with photographs linking Eleanor's family to the entity. Mr. Croft confronts them, revealing his pact but not its full nature. The chapter ends with a shadowy figure appearing in the hallway, and Eleanor realizing the entity has been waiting for her specifically.
  3. 3Chapter 3Eleanor and Rossi, shaken by the burning house and the entity's survival, seek refuge at a local inn. Eleanor experiences a terrifying dream linking her to the Devourer's hunger. Detective Rossi, now a believer, shares her own traumatic past connected to a similar entity. Mr. Croft, injured and dying, reveals a forgotten second sanctum that must be found and destroyed. Eleanor receives a cryptic phone call from an unknown woman claiming to be her great-aunt, alive, forcing her to question everything.
  4. 4Chapter 4Eleanor receives a call from Amelia Blackhood, who claims to be alive and reveals that the Devourer was not destroyed but freed. Amelia insists on meeting at a neutral location to explain the truth, leaving Eleanor torn between disbelief and the chilling familiarity of the voice.
  5. 5Chapter 5Eleanor and Rossi return to the motel to plan, but the Devourer's influence escalates. A tense visit to Mr. Croft and a terrifying encounter at the house force Eleanor to accept that her only option is to confront the entity, leading to a final, irreversible decision.
  6. 6Chapter 6Eleanor begins to understand the cost of binding the Devourer as she experiences its hunger firsthand. With Rossi's help, she uncovers a hidden journal belonging to Alistair Blackhood that reveals a possible way to destroy the entity permanently, but the ritual requires a sacrifice she is not prepared to make. In a final confrontation with Amelia, Eleanor chooses a different path, using the entity's own nature against it to seal it away in the sanctum walls, freeing herself but forever changing the house.
  7. 7Chapter 7Eleanor begins her daily ritual of guarding the Devourer, but the entity grows more cunning, testing her resolve and exploiting her exhaustion. Detective Rossi investigates a series of strange occurrences in the town, uncovering a pattern that suggests the Devourer's influence may be spreading beyond the house. The chapter ends with Eleanor finding a message carved into the wall of the sanctum, a warning from someone who came before her.
