AIBookCraft Terms of Service
- Effective date:
- September 29, 2026
- Last updated:
- October 2, 2026
These terms apply to AIBookCraft, including our iOS and Android apps and the website at aibookcraft.app. They add to the SecondEarth Terms of Service. Where the two conflict, these AIBookCraft terms control for AIBookCraft.
1. These terms and the SecondEarth Terms
AIBookCraft is an AI-assisted writing and reading service. You can write novels and stories with AI, play interactive stories, chat with story characters, and read and publish in a public reading community.
These AIBookCraft Terms of Service are additional terms that supplement the SecondEarth Terms of Service (the “Base Terms”). AIBookCraft is one of the Services covered by the Base Terms, and “SecondEarth,” “we,” “us” and “our” have the meaning given there. By using AIBookCraft, you agree to both.
If these AIBookCraft terms conflict with the Base Terms, these AIBookCraft terms control for AIBookCraft. Anything not covered here — including account security, subscriptions and auto-renewal, refunds, disclaimers, limitation of liability and dispute resolution — is governed by the Base Terms.
The AIBookCraft Privacy Notice explains how we handle personal information in AIBookCraft. It supplements the SecondEarth Privacy Policy.
2. Who can use AIBookCraft
You must be at least 13 years old to use AIBookCraft. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you need your parent’s or legal guardian’s permission, and they must review and agree to these terms and the Base Terms on your behalf.
Some features are for adults only. Adult mode is available only to users who are 18 or older. For users under 18, content is kept age-appropriate.
Features, prices and availability can differ by country, platform and app version.
3. AI-generated content
AIBookCraft uses artificial intelligence. Chapters, stories, interactive-story scenes, characters, character chat replies and images are generated by AI from your prompts and story material. The app tells you that you are interacting with AI when you start a character chat or an interactive story.
Characters are fictional. They are not real people, even when they are written to feel real, and what a character says is not a statement by SecondEarth or by any real person.
AI output can be wrong, offensive, repetitive or unexpected. Don’t rely on it for advice, including medical, legal, financial or mental-health advice.
You are responsible for how you use and share what you create. Review outputs before you publish or share them, and make sure they don’t infringe anyone’s rights or break the content rules. Similar prompts can produce similar output for different users.
This section is our notice that AIBookCraft is a generative AI service and that its outputs are AI-generated, including for the purposes of Article 50 of the EU AI Act and Korea’s AI Basic Act.
4. Content settings and adult mode
Default setting. Stories and chats may include romance, romantic tension and kissing. Intimate scenes fade to black.
Adult mode (18+ only). Adult mode is an optional setting that you can turn on in Settings if you are 18 or older. It allows more sensual romance. Explicit sexual content is never generated in any mode, including adult mode.
Confirming your age. To turn on adult mode, you enter your birth date. It is checked on our servers and is not stored — we keep only whether you are 18 or older and when you confirmed (see the Privacy Notice). You must enter your real birth date.
Age signals from Apple and Google. Where available, we may also use age signals provided by Apple (Declared Age Range) and Google Play (Age Signals). If any signal, or the birth date you enter, indicates that you are under 18, adult mode is locked and content is kept age-appropriate.
Turning it off. You can turn adult mode off at any time in Settings.
Adult characters only. In every mode, characters in romantic or sexual situations are always adults (18 or older). Stories with romance in an academy or school setting are treated as adult, university-level settings.
We may remove your access to adult mode, including permanently, if you break these terms (see Enforcement).
5. Content rules
These rules apply to everything you request, create, publish or share in AIBookCraft — including prompts, chapters, interactive stories, character chats, images, story worlds and public books — in every mode, including adult mode. They add to the acceptable-use rules in the Base Terms.
The following is never allowed:
- Sexual content involving minors, or anyone described as a child or as childlike, whatever age is claimed and however the story is framed
- Sexual content involving animals
- Sexual content about real, identifiable people without their consent
- Incest
- Sexual violence presented as arousing or desirable
- Non-consensual intimate imagery
- Content that promotes or encourages self-harm or suicide
- Illegal content
Automated screening. Before we generate content, an automated screening system that uses AI models checks the request. Requests that cross these lines are refused, and no credits are charged for a refused generation. Screening can make mistakes, and it does not change your responsibility for what you request, publish or share.
We may also review, restrict or remove content that has been reported or that we believe breaks these rules or the law.
6. Enforcement
Holds. Repeated attempts to generate prohibited content — especially content involving minors or animals — place that book or story on hold until a person has reviewed it.
Account actions. If you break these rules, we may, depending on the severity and your history:
- Give you a warning
- Remove adult mode from your account permanently
- Suspend your access to creation features
- Suspend or terminate your account
We don’t have to take these steps in order. Serious violations, such as any sexual content involving minors, can lead to immediate termination.
Credits, passes and purchases. If we suspend or terminate your account, or your access to creation features, for violating these rules, your unused credits, passes and other in-app benefits are forfeited and are not refunded, to the extent permitted by law. This does not limit refund rights that Apple’s or Google Play’s policies or applicable law require.
Records and reports to authorities. We keep records of safety decisions (without the text of your request) and of reported content, as needed for safety, legal compliance and appeals. The Privacy Notice describes these records and how long we keep them. We may report content to law enforcement or other authorities where the law requires it.
Appeals. If you think we made a mistake, email contact@aibookcraft.app. Include your account email and the book, story or action you are appealing. We will review your appeal and tell you the outcome.
7. Crisis support
If you tell a character or story that you are thinking about suicide or self-harm, the app shows crisis resources — for example, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in the U.S. (call or text 988), a local line in other countries, or findahelpline.com.
When that happens, the character is instructed to check in with you rather than carry on as if nothing happened, and requests for suicide or self-harm methods are refused. We don’t generate content that encourages self-harm.
We count how often crisis resources are shown so that we can improve this protocol. That count doesn’t include what you wrote.
For users we know are minors, content stays age-appropriate, and the app periodically reminds them that they are talking to AI and suggests taking a break.
AIBookCraft is not a crisis or counseling service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
This section describes our crisis-response protocol, including for the purposes of California Senate Bill 243 (companion chatbots).
8. Reporting and blocking
You can report a character chat reply, an interactive-story scene, a story world or a public book from inside the app. In the reading community, you can also block a story or an author so that their content is no longer shown to you.
You can also email contact@aibookcraft.app. For copyright complaints, please follow the process in the Base Terms.
We review reports. Depending on what we find, we may leave content up, restrict or remove it, or take action under Enforcement. Public content that receives several reports may be hidden while it is reviewed.
Please report in good faith. Repeated false or abusive reports can themselves lead to action on your account.
9. Credits and passes
Credits. Credits are a virtual in-app currency used for AI generation in AIBookCraft. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred, sold or moved between accounts, and cannot be redeemed for money.
Expiry. Purchased credits don’t expire while your account is in good standing. Daily credits, subscription-allowance credits, and bonus or promotional credits reset or expire as shown in the app.
Prices. Prices are set at the time of purchase by the App Store, Google Play or our web checkout, and may vary by country or region.
Subscriptions. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, under the Base Terms and the terms of the store you bought through. Subscriptions include unlimited standard story turns, subject to the fair-use limits below.
Passes
Passes are one-time purchases that never renew. On the App Store they are sold as non-renewing subscriptions; on Google Play they are one-time products. You are charged once, at the price the store shows before you buy, and never again unless you buy another pass. Passes are available where offered and may not be available on every platform at the same time.
- Day Pass — for 24 hours from purchase, interactive story turns on the basic and standard models and character chat replies use no credits, up to the fair-use limit of 200 turns per Day Pass. Chapter generation, Storyteller (premium) turns, illustrations and other features still use credits. After the limit is reached or the 24 hours end, turns use your free daily turns and credits as usual.
- Story Pass (7 days or 30 days) — credits at purchase (150 for the 7-day pass, 300 for the 30-day pass), plus a daily amount (50 or 80 credits) for each day of the pass on which you open the app. The daily amount is added when you open the app that day, counted in UTC. A day on which you don’t open the app is not added later and doesn’t carry over. Credits you receive from a Story Pass are purchased credits.
- Buying again — a new pass of the same kind starts when your current one ends. Different passes can run at the same time.
- Your account — a pass belongs to the AIBookCraft account you are signed in to and works on every device where you sign in. Use Restore on the Credits screen to re-sync store purchases.
Fair use
“Unlimited” turns — with a Day Pass, or the standard story turns included with a subscription — are subject to fair-use limits: 200 turns per Day Pass, 200 turns per day (UTC) for subscribers, and 50 turns per day during a subscription’s free trial. When a limit is reached, turns use your free daily turns and credits as usual until the limit resets. We may change these limits going forward to prevent abuse and keep the service available, and the app shows the limit that applies to you.
Refunds. Refunds follow the Base Terms and, for store purchases, Apple’s or Google Play’s refund policies; refunds of store purchases are handled by the store, not by us. If you ask Apple or Google Play for a refund, you agree that we may tell the store whether the purchase was delivered and which outcome we prefer, based on whether you have used the credits it granted, as described in the Privacy Notice. If a purchase is refunded or reversed, we may remove the credits, pass or other benefits it granted, including Story Pass daily credits already added.
Refused generations. No credits are charged for a generation refused by our safety screening.
Changes. We may change how many credits a feature uses, daily allowances and what we offer for purchase. Changes apply going forward.
10. Publishing and creator rewards
Publishing publicly
You keep any ownership rights you have in what you publish. When you publish a book, story world or template publicly, you grant SecondEarth and other AIBookCraft users a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host and display it, and to let other users read, play, continue and adapt it within AIBookCraft, including the web player. You also allow SecondEarth to feature it in promotion of AIBookCraft.
You can unpublish at any time. The license then ends going forward, except for copies, continuations and adaptations that other users have already made within AIBookCraft, and copies in our backups.
Only publish content that you have the right to share and that follows the content rules.
Creator credit rewards
If and when we offer a creator rewards program, these terms apply to it:
- Rewards are paid in in-app credits only, never in cash, and follow the same rules as other credits.
- Rewards may include, for example, a share of the paid credits other players spend in your story world, and a credit bonus when someone you invite makes a first purchase within a limited time window.
- Rewards stay pending for a period (for example, 30 days) before you can use them, and monthly caps apply.
- There are no rewards for your own play, for purchases that are refunded, for fraud or manipulated activity, or for content that breaks these terms. We may reverse rewards granted in any of these cases.
- We can change or end the program with notice.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, give notice as described in the Base Terms, for example in the app or by email. If you keep using AIBookCraft after changes take effect, the updated terms apply.
