Chapter 17
Mega Celebration Time
After his parents ran away from bats, Pablo was the best cowboy in the world. Old Paint takes Pablo & Glint for a fun nighttime horseback riding adventure as a mega celebration.
"Bats!" shrieked his mum and dad in unison. "Get off! Get off!" Pablo watched them scramble, their panicked footsteps a frantic rustle fading into the shadowy forest. A strange lightness bloomed in his chest, unexpected and utterly liberating. "Goodbye forever, Mum and Dad!" he called after them, his voice a clear chime in the moonlit clearing. A chuckle, pure and unrestrained, bubbled up from deep within, surprising him with its genuine mirth. For the very first time in five years, he felt truly alive, truly free, unburdened by their constant worry and cautious warnings.
Old Paint shifted beneath him, the magnificent horse’s muscles rippling with contained energy. The permanent bond hummed between them now, a living connection that pulsed with warmth and understanding. Pablo could feel the horse's emotions as clearly as his own—the excitement, the anticipation, the sheer joy of carrying his chosen rider. "You know what, guys?" Old Paint’s voice resonated in Pablo's mind, rich with enthusiasm. "We should have a mega celebration!"
"What's that, Old Paint?" asked Glint, his voice a series of soft chirps and whirs.
