MY LIFE IN HAITI AND IN THE USA.

Table of contents

  1. 1A Haitian DawnBorn in Port-au-Prince, my early years in Mariani were filled with family love, faith, and unexpected medical challenges. My parents' deep devotion to God laid the spiritual foundation for my life.
  2. 2Echoes of ViolenceChildhood innocence shattered by a brutal home invasion. The attack left deep scars, introducing fear and a profound reliance on faith for survival amidst Haiti's growing instability.
  3. 3Seeds of KnowledgeNavigating a winding educational path through various schools, marked by setbacks and repeated grades. Vocational training in secretarial studies offered a different kind of hope.
  4. 4Shelter from the StormForced to flee our home due to escalating threats, we found refuge with the kind André family. This period of displacement was shadowed by my brother's and father's declining health.
  5. 5The Weight of GriefMy younger brother's passing in 1998 plunged me into deep grief, impacting my studies. Aunt Monique's unwavering support became a lifeline, helping me complete my education.
  6. 6A Mother's StrengthMy father's health worsened, and my mother became his devoted caregiver until his death in 2003. Her resilience in managing family responsibilities was extraordinary.
