Zeus trotted back towards the farm, his tail giving a hesitant thump against his sides. It wasn't the triumphant wag he might have imagined, but a quiet, hopeful beat. Nestled carefully in his mouth, cradled with the utmost gentleness, were the farmer's prized budgies. Their tiny chirps were a soft melody against the growing silence of the evening. Yaz, perched regally on his back, her feathers rustling like ancient parchment, surveyed the approaching farmhouse with keen, intelligent eyes. The air buzzed with a nervous energy, a blend of relief and trepidation that Zeus couldn't quite name. He had done it. Tyson whined softly, a sound of pure relief, while Lucy stood frozen, her usual confident posture faltering.

“Zeus?” the farmer breathed, his voice thick with emotion. He took a hesitant step forward, then another, until he was standing just a few feet away, his gaze fixed on the budgies. “You… you brought them back.”
