Chapter 15

The Heart of the Story

At the First Stage, Evan stands face-to-face with the Playwright. He sees the tantalizing possibility of a world without suffering, a perfectly curated existence. But he also understands the terrible price: a world without genuine love, art, passion, or the messy, beautiful freedom to choose one’s own path. The choice is stark, the stakes infinite. He must decide the fate of all stories, all lives.
