The air in the K'tharr marketplace hummed with a thousand alien dialects, a cacophony that assaulted Elara’s senses even through the subtle filters of her translation implant. She clutched the worn leather of her satchel, the weight of her quest pressing down on her shoulders like the alien sun overhead, a disc of searing violet light that cast long, distorted shadows across the bustling concourse. It was smaller than the others, its movements jerky and hesitant.
