The air in the chamber was thick with the dust of ages, a familiar scent that usually brought a strange comfort. Here, though, it felt heavy, suffocating. The chamber itself was a testament to a forgotten craft, its walls carved with intricate, indecipherable runes that seemed to writhe just at the edge of my vision. This was a place where history had been not just lost, but actively *hidden*. I’d learned by now that Erebos was a world of shadows, and the deepest shadows were often cast by those who sought to preserve what the Oblivion sought to devour.

The Goddess had been vague, her ethereal form flickering like a dying ember. "A scholar," she'd whispered, her voice barely a breath against the silence. "One who made a terrible choice. They hold a key, Leo. A key to the King's undoing."

And so, guided by the faint, shimmering threads of residual chronal energy that only my Chronicle Engine could perceive, I’d found this place. It wasn’t a grand library or a bustling city, but a small, isolated sanctuary, tucked away in a mountain pass that the Oblivion’s tendrils hadn’t entirely choked.
