But the clarity that had bloomed in the quiet aftermath of forgiveness was a revelation. It wasn't about erasing the past, but about understanding its composition, its ingredients, so that I could choose different elements for the present and future.

The Echo, that persistent whisper of inherited limitations, still murmured at the edges of my awareness. It spoke of fear, of inadequacy, of the inevitability of repeating the same mistakes. But now, its voice was softer, less insistent. It was like a distant radio signal, crackling with static, rather than a powerful broadcast. I no longer flinched at its sound. Instead, I listened with a detached curiosity, as if observing a curious natural phenomenon. “This is how it has always been,” it would sigh, a mournful wind through dry leaves. “Fear not the unknown, but the familiar path trodden by those who came before.”
