Chapter 9
Meeting Zylos
A wise and welcoming being named Zylos approaches them. Zylos, a representative of the planet's inhabitants, greets them with kindness and an ancient wisdom, offering guidance and friendship.
The ramp of the spaceship whirred down with a soft sigh, as if the old vessel itself was exhaling a breath it had held for decades. Leo, his heart thrumming a frantic rhythm against his ribs, stepped out first, his small boots crunching on the unfamiliar, shimmering dust of this alien world. Arthur followed close behind, his hand resting lightly on Leo’s shoulder, a silent anchor in the vastness of the unknown. The air here was sweet, carrying the scent of flowers Leo had never imagined, a perfume that tickled his nose and made him feel both giddy and a little nervous. The sky above was a tapestry of swirling colours, soft lavenders and deep indigos, dotted with stars that seemed to pulse with their own gentle light.
As they took in the breathtaking panorama, a figure emerged from a grove of crystalline trees. It moved with a grace that seemed to defy gravity, its form fluid and serene. Leo instinctively took a half-step back, his hand finding his father’s. The being approached slowly, deliberately, its presence radiating a profound sense of peace. It was neither tall nor short, its body shimmering with a silvery luminescence that seemed to shift and flow like liquid moonlight. Two large, dark eyes, pools of ancient wisdom, regarded them with an expression of gentle curiosity. Tentacles, delicate and iridescent, unfurled from its form, not in a threatening gesture, but as a silent offering of welcome.
"Greetings, travelers," a voice echoed, not from the being's mouth, but seemingly from the very air around them, a melody woven from starlight and gentle breezes. It was a voice that resonated deep within Leo’s chest, a sound both strange and comforting. "I am Zylos. We have observed your arrival with great interest and a measure of wonder."
