The air in the mercenary commander’s command center was thick with the acrid tang of ozone and stale sweat. It was a stark contrast to the sterile, ethereal hum that usually accompanied the Warden’s movements, a hum that was currently muted, suppressed by the very fabric of his ghost weave trench coat. He stood in the heart of their operation, a silent, imposing figure against the flickering holographic displays that charted their ill-gotten gains. The commander, a hulking brute encased in gleaming, weaponized armor, turned slowly, his helmet’s optical sensors glowing a malevolent crimson.

“So,” the commander’s voice, amplified and distorted by his suit, boomed, “the ghost pays a visit. I admit, Warden, I expected a more… conventional approach. A frontal assault, perhaps?” He chuckled, a grating sound that scraped against the Warden’s nerves.

The Warden remained still, his cybernetic eye scanning the room, cataloging every weapon emplacement, every data terminal, every exit. His mace of wonder pulsed faintly at his hip, a reassuring weight. “Dignity, commander,” the Warden’s voice was a low, steady rumble, devoid of the commander’s bluster, “is not a conventional approach. It is the only approach.”
