Luna and Skye combine their strengths. Luna's bravery and Skye's agility create a plan to outwit the alpha, proving their partnership is their greatest asset.
The air in the wild dog's lair hung thick and heavy, a potent mix of damp earth, stale prey, and the acrid scent of fear. Luna’s hackles were raised, a low growl rumbling in her chest, a primal warning that vibrated through the very stones beneath her paws. Beside her, Skye was a coiled spring of nervous energy, her eyes darting, taking in the menacing silhouettes of the pack members that ringed them. The Alpha, a brute of a dog with a scarred muzzle and eyes like chips of obsidian, stood before them, a sneer twisting his lips.
"So," the Alpha rasped, his voice a gravelly scrape that scraped against Luna’s nerves, "you think you can waltz in here, disrupt my territory, and demand passage? You are fools."
Luna met his gaze, refusing to flinch. "We don't demand. We seek. And we will not be deterred." Her voice was steady, a stark contrast to the frantic thumping of her heart. She could feel Skye’s apprehension, a tremor that ran through their shared space, but her friend remained silent, trusting Luna to lead.
