Chapter 16
New Beads, New Tales
Inspired, Elara decides to craft a new necklace, each bead a promise of future stories, games, and shared moments with her beloved grandchildren.
Elara, with a twinkle in her eye that could outshine any disco ball, surveyed the pile of colorful beads scattered across her kitchen table. It was a magnificent mess, a kaleidoscope of blues, greens, reds, and yellows, each one begging to be strung into something spectacular. Maya, ever the pragmatist, smoothed down her already immaculate shirt. “I thought we found the treasure, Leo. And Grandma found her necklace.” She glanced at Elara, a knowing smile playing on her lips. She had, after all, been the one to notice the tell-tale bulge in Grandma’s apron pocket, the one Elara had completely forgotten stuffing it there herself.
