The wind, a sharp-toothed beast, gnawed at the edges of the village, snatching at the threadbare cloaks of its inhabitants. Each gust carried with it the biting chill of a winter that had settled in with a vengeance, a relentless white fist clenching tighter with every passing day. Their eyes, wide with a terror he couldn't comprehend, saw only his imposing height, the sheer scale of his wingspan, the powerful muscles rippling beneath the smooth, silken fabric he wore. They saw a monster, a creature of myth and shadow, not a being who felt the pangs of their suffering.
