Tiggy stretched, a long, languid movement that started at his twitching nose and ended with his fluffy tail flicking. Sunlight, still soft and golden, dappled through the leaves overhead, painting dancing patterns on the forest floor. His tummy felt full and happy, and his legs felt strong and ready for… for what? He wriggled his toes, digging them into the cool earth. He remembered his mama’s warm fur, the gentle rumble of her purr, and the quiet way she’d explained everything. She’d told him that tigers didn’t just play and pounce and chase butterflies. Tigers also napped. He’d felt bouncy and brave, and the sunbeams had seemed brighter, and the birdsong had sounded sweeter.

He padded out from the cozy den, his whiskers twitching with anticipation. The jungle was alive with sounds this morning. Birds chirped their cheerful greetings, and the rustle of leaves whispered secrets. He could hear the distant chatter of monkeys and the gentle trumpeting of elephants. It was the perfect day for playing!
