Elara sat in her favorite armchair, the one by the window that always caught the afternoon sun. The wood of the necklace felt smooth and familiar against her palm, each bead a tiny, silent storyteller. Across from her, perched on the edge of a stool, sat little Leo, eyes wide with a curiosity that mirrored her own when she was his age. The room was hushed, filled with the soft ticking of the grandfather clock and the gentle murmur of the wind outside, a sound like the rustling of ancient leaves.

“Grandmother Elara,” Leo began, his voice a soft whisper, “what is this necklace made of?”

Elara smiled, her fingers tracing the worn surface of the first bead, the one carved from the oldest part of the oak tree. “This, my dear Leo,” she said, her voice warm and steady, “is made of stories. And of strength. And of love.”
