Jonas, his eyes now holding a different kind of ambition, spoke of online marketplaces and digital designs, his words a foreign language Danguolė struggled to comprehend. He spoke of reaching a global audience, of a fame that transcended the familiar scent of wool and the quiet satisfaction of a perfectly executed stitch.

"Imagine, Danguolė," he'd said, his voice earnest, "your creations seen by millions. Not just in our village, or even Lithuania, but everywhere. This… this is the future."

But Danguolė’s future felt rooted in the past, in the worn wooden needles passed down from her grandmother, in the intricate patterns whispered through generations. She saw the beauty in the tactile, the warmth of a hand-knitted scarf against a cold cheek, the comfort of a sweater made with love. The digital world felt cold, impersonal, a place where the soul of the craft could easily be lost. She pictured her delicate lace shawls, each thread imbued with intention, flattened into pixels, stripped of their texture and depth.
