Chapter 9
A Glimpse of the Follower
A mysterious entity emerges from the Nebula's depths, drawn to Lou John's burgeoning power. This enigmatic being offers guidance, but their motives remain shrouded in uncertainty.
The air within the Nebula was not air at all, but a shimmering, viscous luminescence that pulsed with an energy Lou John was only beginning to comprehend. It clung to him, not with the damp chill of the cave, but with a warmth that seeped into his very core, a balm to the phantom pains of his former life. He traced the patterns etched into his skin, the birthmarks that had once been the source of his ostracization, now glowing faintly, like embers stirred by an unseen breath. Each pulse of the Nebula seemed to resonate within them, a silent conversation he was slowly learning to decipher.

It was during one of these prolonged periods of contemplation, as he watched nebulae bloom and fade like celestial flowers, that he first sensed it. A presence, subtle at first, like a ripple on a placid cosmic lake. It was not the raw, impersonal power of the Nebula itself, but something distinct, something with an awareness that brushed against his own. It drew closer, not with the brute force of intrusion, but with a gentle, inquisitive caress.
