The city hummed around me, a symphony of traffic and a thousand hurried footsteps, but it was a world away from the one I now inhabited. Europe. It was a dream I’d once held, a distant, shimmering possibility, and now here I was, walking its grand boulevards under a sky that felt both familiar and alien. Familiar because of him, alien because he was so utterly different. Aryan. The name itself was a whisper on my lips, a ghost that had haunted my thoughts for five long years.

I’d built a life, brick by careful brick, after he’d vanished from Nepal. A quiet life, filled with the steady rhythm of work and the comfortable hum of friendships. I’d told myself I was strong, that I had moved on. And for a while, I believed it. But then, the chance encounter in the bustling train station, the shock of his eyes meeting mine across a sea of strangers, had shattered all my carefully constructed defenses. He was still the same, yet entirely changed. The raw mystery had been polished into an aura of sophisticated power, his gaze now holding a depth that spoke of things I couldn't begin to fathom.

He was a businessman now, he’d said, his voice smooth as polished stone. Wealthy, respected, with a life that seemed to exist on a completely different plane than the one I knew. Yet, beneath the veneer of success, I sensed the same intensity, the same magnetic pull that had ensnared me all those years ago. And now, he was a constant, bewildering presence in my life, a shadow I couldn't shake.
