The air in our little cottage, nestled high in the Annapurna foothills, hummed with a familiar peace, a stark contrast to the tempestuous storms that had once raged around us. Sunlight, thick and golden, spilled through the open windows, illuminating dust motes dancing in the quiet air. It was here, in the heart of the land where our story began, that we found ourselves, breathing in the scent of pine and damp earth, and breathing out the shared weight of years.
Aryan sat across from me, his dark eyes, once so guarded, now softened with a tenderness that still made my heart flutter. He held a steaming cup of chai, his thumb tracing the rim, a familiar gesture that spoke of a comfort earned, not given.
