Chapter 10
A Seed of Friendship
Emily spends hours with the Foley milliy, talking and sharing stories. The creature listens intently, its sad demeanor slowly lifting with each kind word and shared moment.

Snowflakes, like tiny, lost stars, danced against the cave’s entrance, but inside, a different kind of magic was unfolding. Emily sat cross-legged on the surprisingly soft moss that carpeted the cave floor, her bright eyes fixed on the magnificent creature beside her. The Foley milliy’s massive head was lowered, its large, intelligent red eyes blinking slowly as it listened. A low rumble, not of threat but of something akin to amusement, vibrated in its chest. For the first time since Emily had met it, the creature’s usual melancholic aura seemed to recede, replaced by a subtle, almost imperceptible easing of tension. Its tail, which had been held stiffly, now swayed gently, its tip brushing against the mossy ground.
