Chapter 7
Embracing the Unknown
With his secret exposed and danger imminent, Kaelen makes a choice. He vows to understand and control his magic, embarking on a covert journey to uncover its origins and hone his abilities for future challenges.
The chill of the night air, once a welcome caress against Kaelen's skin, now felt like a shroud. They sought him. They sought the power that had flared within him, raw and untamed, to save Lyra.
The memory of his sister’s labored breathing, the shallow rise and fall of her chest, was a phantom ache in his own lungs. He had seen the fear in his mother’s eyes, the desperation that had finally pushed him past his own terror. It had been instinct, a primal surge of will, that had woven the threads of light, coaxing life back into Lyra’s fragile form. And in that moment, the carefully constructed walls of his secrecy had crumbled.
