Kay, Cynthia, and Jaque Jr. arrive at the cabin, pursued by Veritas. Jaque Jr. reveals he deliberately led Veritas to force a confrontation, shattering the group's fragile trust. The cabin is surrounded, and the clone must choose between escape and protecting Wila.
The headlights cut through the trees, a white glare that swept across the cabin windows and disappeared, then came back, holding steady. J7 was already on his feet, a handgun appearing from somewhere inside his jacket. The clone pulled Wila behind him, his body a shield.
"Get to the back room," J7 said, his voice low. "Now."
But Wila couldn't move. She watched the lights grow brighter, heard the crunch of tires on gravel, the engine cutting out. A door opened. Footsteps.
