Chapter 17
The Confrontation
Returning to the palace, Althea and Cris face King Theron. Althea bravely reveals the truth of Cris's identity and her love, defying royal expectations and tradition.

Queen Lyra stood at his side, her expression one of quiet, almost maternal, concern, her eyes finding Althea’s with a silent question. The air crackled with unspoken tension, a palpable weight that pressed down on Althea’s chest.
