Chapter 6
A World of Joy
Inside, they discover a vibrant world filled with people in rainbow colors, singing and working harmoniously. Children laugh, joy and unity are palpable, a stark contrast to the fear they left behind.
The door, ordinary as it was, swung inward with an almost imperceptible sigh, revealing not the expected continuation of the stark, white building, but a vista so breathtaking it stole the breath from their lungs. Kenneth, his heart still thrumming a frantic rhythm against his ribs, stepped forward, his two companions close behind, their trembling hands still gripping the edges of the brown bags. The creature, that hulking, shadowy form, remained on the other side of the threshold, its presence a palpable weight that seemed to press against the very air of this new realm.
It was a world painted with the vibrant hues of a thousand sunsets and dawns. Rolling hills, impossibly green, stretched as far as the eye could see, dotted with trees that bore fruits of shimmering gold. The sky above was a canvas of swirling, iridescent colors, not the harsh blues of their world, but a gentle blend of rose, violet, and a soft, luminous gold. And the people… oh, the people. They moved with an effortless grace, their simple garments woven from threads that seemed to capture and reflect the very light of the heavens. Each garment was a cascade of color, a living rainbow, shifting and shimmering with every movement.
A melody, pure and unadulterated, filled the air. It wasn't a song with words they could discern, but a symphony of pure joy, a harmonious chorus that seemed to emanate from every living thing. They saw figures tending to fields of wheat that glowed with an inner light, their movements synchronized with the rhythm of the music. As they gathered the grain, their voices rose in unison, a sound that resonated deep within Kenneth’s soul, chasing away the lingering tendrils of fear.
