Today, they were venturing into uncharted territory, a shared space of affection that felt both thrilling and terrifying. Jason, a knot of anticipation and a flutter of excitement in his stomach, looked at his four stepsisters gathered in the living room. Seraphina, ever the composed one, sat with a book, though her eyes kept flicking towards him. Aurora was pacing, a restless energy emanating from her, her gaze sharp and appraising. Luna, curled on the sofa with a sketchpad, offered a shy, hopeful smile whenever their eyes met. And Celeste, perched on the armrest, bounced her leg with an eagerness that was both endearing and a little overwhelming.
"So," Jason began, his voice a little rougher than he intended, "are we… are we really doing this?"
Celeste giggled, a bright, clear sound. "Of course, silly! We made a pact, remember?" She slid off the armrest and trotted over to him, taking his hand. Her small fingers were surprisingly warm. "And I’m really excited!"
