Chapter 12
Acts of Love
Emboldened by her encounter with the divine, Elara acts with selfless love and courage. Her actions become a testament to her growing faith and inner light.
The air in the village square still tasted of worry, a fine dust that settled on everything, clinging to clothes and spirits alike. But for Elara, something had shifted. He stood near the well, its stone rim worn smooth by generations of hands, now as dry as the earth around it. “Praying won’t fill the river. Wishing won’t make the rain fall. We need water, not… not wishes.” His gaze held a familiar cynicism, a wall Elara had often felt herself crashing against.
