The air in the grand ballroom of the Eko Hotels & Suites crackled, not with the usual hum of thousands of smartphones capturing every glittering moment, but with a different kind of energy – anticipation. Chinedu Eze, affectionately known to his legion of followers as the Nokia King, stood on a stage bathed in the warm glow of spotlights. He wasn't presenting a new app, a cutting-edge gadget, or a revolutionary social media strategy. Most attendees, dressed in sharp suits and designer dresses, had their latest iPhones and Samsungs practically glued to their hands, their faces illuminated by the blue light of endless scrolling. “They told me,” Chinedu began, his voice resonating with its characteristic warmth and a hint of playful mischief, “that to be a legend in 2026, I needed the latest… whatever this is called.” He gestured vaguely at the sea of glowing screens. “They said my Nokia 3310 was a liability, a relic, a… a digital dinosaur.” A ripple of laughter went through the audience.
