Chapter 6

A New Foundation

Kai’s initial surprise at Eleanor’s news began to transform into something deeper. The casual arrangement they had shared now felt like a distant memory, replaced by a burgeoning sense of responsibility and a genuine affection that had been quietly growing. He committed to being present, to supporting Eleanor through this unexpected journey. His feelings for her had evolved far beyond their initial physical connection, and he acknowledged this newfound depth. Together, they began the tentative process of building a bridge between their separate worlds, laying a new foundation for their future.
