With a final, hilarious flourish, Cake and Fiona manage to seal the ancient Egyptian monsters back into their tomb. The world is saved, and Walker's reading adventure concludes with a satisfying, funny resolution.
The Mummy King, a towering figure swathed in bandages that seemed to unravel with every clumsy lurch, let out a guttural groan that sounded suspiciously like a rusty hinge. Fiona, ever the pragmatist, rolled her eyes. "Seriously? That's the terrifying sound of ancient evil? My toaster makes more threatening noises when it's about to burn my toast."
Cake, currently a rather indignant-looking badger with a penchant for dramatic sighs, chittered in agreement. His whiskers twitched, a silent testament to his shared exasperation. The Mummy King, meanwhile, was attempting to stomp towards them, but his foot, wrapped in what looked suspiciously like a very old, very moth-eaten sock, caught on a loose stone. He tumbled forward with a thud that sent dust bunnies scattering like startled scarabs.
"Oh, for the love of Ra," Fiona muttered, uncapping her pen. The familiar *click* echoed in the cavernous tomb, and the ordinary-looking writing implement transformed into a shimmering, sapphire-hilted sword. "This is just pathetic. I was expecting at least a dramatic monologue about eternal damnation, not a slapstick routine."
