The mountain air, once a cool balm against my fevered skin, now hummed with a different kind of energy. It wasn't the hushed, reverent silence of the Grand Hotel, that magnificent, forgotten queen of the peaks, but a vibrant, thrumming pulse that vibrated through the soles of my worn boots. He had seen the artist, the soul that had been so carefully, so desperately, hidden away.
