Tuggy took a deep breath, or at least, he puffed out his little smokestack with a determined huff. The wind whipped around him, tugging at his ropes and sending spray over his deck, but inside, a new feeling was beginning to bloom. It wasn't the fluttery fear that had tickled his engine before, but a warm, steady pulse. He was small, yes, but he was also strong. His engine, though not as loud as the giants, was a sturdy, reliable heart that had always worked for him. And his size, the very thing that made him feel so insignificant next to the colossal freighters and liners, might just be his advantage. He remembered how easily he could zip and weave through the crowded docks, how he could slip into spaces the big ships could only dream of.

The waves were growing, each one a towering, foamy monster with a hungry mouth. The sky had turned a bruised, angry purple, and the rain was coming down in sheets, blurring the world into a watery mess. The big ships, Captain Bigship’s vessel included, were struggling. They pitched and rolled, their massive hulls groaning under the onslaught of the storm. Tuggy watched them, his little bow bobbing with concern. He knew they were powerful, built to carry mountains of cargo and brave the open sea, but even they looked small and vulnerable against the raw fury of nature.

He chugged forward, his small propeller churning the churning water with all its might. The spray stung his painted eyes, and the wind tried to push him back, but Tuggy held his course. He was no longer just watching; he was a part of the bay, a tiny beacon of determination in the chaos. He steered himself away from the path of a particularly monstrous wave, letting it crash harmlessly against the sea wall. He felt a thrill, a surge of pride, as he navigated the choppy waters with a surprising agility. This was it. This was what he was built for.
