Chapter 4: Warm Bread and New Friends
Ed meets Catherine, the bubbly innkeeper, who offers him food and a place to sleep. At the inn, Ed is introduced to Sofia, a shy woman with dark hair and a quiet smile. Layia notices Sofia’s gentle ways. The group enjoys a simple meal together, while Ed feels the welcome of new friends and wonders about the secrets he might still be keeping from them.
