Sirijus found himself standing before a grand, oak-paneled door, the kind that whispered of hushed conversations and weighty pronouncements. His heart gave a little flutter, not of fear, but of the familiar anticipation that always accompanied a new intellectual frontier. He was about to meet Dr. Aris Thorne, a name that echoed with respect, and sometimes apprehension, throughout the scientific community. He was a man of precise movements, his silver hair neatly combed, his spectacles perched on the bridge of his aquiline nose. His gaze, when it met Sirijus’s, was sharp and assessing, like a hawk spotting its prey.
