Chapter 30: The Prince's Charge
Adam rescues the five surviving princes from an underground prison, then returns to the Cronwell estate. Grandmother appears and decrees the seven princes must be separated except Adam and Kael, and charges Adam with finding twelve mortal apprentices to restore balance to the wizard world.
Adam stopped mid-stride. The whisper coiled around his mind, cold and insistent. "The web is not undone. It is merely rewoven."
Ally turned, her hand still on his arm. "What is it?"
"The whisper. He said the web isn't undone." Adam looked back at the sealed dais, now a glittering crystal tomb half-sunk in the earth. "I thought we won. But he meant something else."
