Chapter 19
The Wanderer's Inheritance
Eve reveals to Adam that he has many brothers and sisters of different species, shows him the Tree of Life and the old Cronwell castle where she once ruled as queen before creating the Great Council. She then takes him to the Wand Chamber, but none of the wands bond with him. She tells him to come back to it later, and they prepare to face the Silent One.
Adam folded the scroll and tucked it into his belt. The severed thread burned in his memory, but he met Eve’s steady gaze. “Then we’ll weave a stronger one.”
Eve nodded, her silver eyes softening. She stepped closer and placed a hand on his shoulder. “There is something you need to see, Adam. Come with me.” She glanced at Ally, who still held his hand. “Both of you. The others will guard the estate.”
Kael gave a curt nod. “We’ll secure the perimeter. Go.” Sarah squeezed Adam’s arm before stepping back with Miriam and Lily. Gabriel’s wings folded as he inclined his head.
