The next morning, I stood outside the Vilnius City Council building, clutching a folder thick with our narrative, data, and non-negotiables. The building was a relic of Soviet architecture—gray concrete softened only by a freshly painted blue door. I took a breath and walked in.
The receptionist directed me to a third-floor office. The hallway smelled of old paper and floor polish. I found the door marked "Simona Petraitytė, Councilwoman" and knocked.
"Come in."
