I woke before my alarm, the November light pale and thin through the curtains. The weight of the letter I had sent the night before pressed on my chest, but there was also a strange lightness—a sense that the process was moving forward, whether I was ready or not.
I made coffee and sat at my desk, scrolling through the messages that had accumulated overnight. DigitalNomad42 had sent a link to a partnership agreement template, with a note: "This is from a community arts organization in Kaunas. They've been doing city partnerships for years. Their dissolution clause is solid."
Aldonza had replied to my confirmation: "See you at 10. I've been thinking about what makes a story worth telling."
