Chapter 21

The Weight of the Proposal

Danguole and the Practical Idealists gather at the café to discuss Councilwoman Petraitytė's offer of a larger grant for a mental health initiative. The group debates the implications of increased oversight and responsibility. Danguole struggles with the fear of losing their grassroots spirit. They decide to accept the opportunity but with a clear framework to preserve their autonomy. The chapter ends with Laura receiving an email setting a deadline for a formal response, and Danguole feeling a mix of hope and trepidation.
