Whispers in the Dreamscape
Rumi's dreams become Jaehyun's training ground. He guides her through virtual demon encounters, testing her reflexes and teaching her the art of the hunt while they grow closer.
The first time it happened, I thought I was just really, really tired. You know, one of those nights where you’ve binged three seasons of a drama and then immediately doom-scrolled until 3 AM? But then Jaehyun’s face, my bias, the one who could melt glaciers with a single smile, appeared in the velvety blackness behind my eyelids. He wasn’t perched on a stage, bathed in the glow of a thousand lightsticks. He wasn’t even doing that signature wink he does during “Starlight Serenade.” No, he was… serious. And he was talking.
“Rumi,” he’d whispered, his voice like warm honey drizzled over a perfectly executed high note. “You’re not just a fan.”
My dream-self, ever the rational one (or so I told myself), had blinked. Obviously, I’m not just a fan. I’m a dedicated fan, a member of the official fan club, a proud owner of three photobooks and a limited edition lightstick!
