The dust settled around Jack, clinging to his threadbare tunic like a second skin. He huddled deeper into the shadows of the ancient oak, its gnarled branches a stark contrast to the crisp, geometric precision of the Card Kingdom’s architecture. He was a Two, a speck of dust in a world of Kings and Queens, a forgotten corner in a meticulously shuffled deck.
