Chapter 38
Marianne Gleester, (Multi Girl)
This chapter explains the tale of Marianne Gleester in a flashback three years before the main events in the story. Marianne Gleester and her family moved to Eidish land in Colonel City, where she and her family were discriminated against just because they are originally Russian. "Heroes didn't come then " thought Marianne as she was trying to get through her horrible childhood. A year from the flashback,an organized massacre by the Midnight Eves killed everybody in Eidish City. The event was called the Eidish City massacre. During that event, Marianne lost her mind and killed her parents, therefore letting her madness consume her. During the Eidish City massacre, Dennis Longshun met Marianne Gleester, who had lost her mind by then. He felt bad for the kid not only because her Multitude powers has awakened and she was maltreated but also because she has no hope nor a reason to live. Dennis gave her a blanket,a jacket and a scar on her left eyebrow marked 'M' before he vanished once the massacre ended. The M stands for Multitude. After the massacre, the heroes came to assess the situation. Marianne, wrapped in a blanket and a jacket, was the only survivor of this brutal genocide. "Heroes are here now. Why didn't they come then, why didn't they come when these people were maltreating me and my family, why do they come now when the damage is already done? These heroes - I hate them! I HATE HEROES!!! That man,he is the only one who helped me. Dennis Longshun,i give you my... gratitude", thought Marianne as she got escorted to a safe location by the heroes. She was deeply angry but was smiling, proving that she is already broken mentally and emotionally. This was 2 years ago, the flashback ends.
The air in Eidish land, Colonel City, had never been kind to the Gleester family. Three years prior to the events that would etch their names into infamy, they had arrived seeking a new beginning, a respite from the echoes of their Russian heritage. But Eidish land offered no sanctuary. Instead, they found suspicion in the eyes of strangers, whispers that clung to them like a shroud, and a pervasive, suffocating discrimination. "Heroes didn't come then," Marianne would often think, the words a bitter mantra that echoed through the hollow corridors of her childhood. It felt like an eternity before any semblance of aid, any whisper of heroic intervention, reached their isolated plight.
Then came the year that shattered everything. A meticulously planned massacre, orchestrated by the chillingly named Midnight Eves, descended upon Eidish City like a plague. The vibrant streets, once alive with laughter and commerce, became a canvas of horror, painted in shades of crimson. In the heart of that inferno, Marianne’s world imploded. The sheer weight of the trauma, the unbearable finality of the bloodshed, fractured something deep within her. Her mind, unable to bear the onslaught, snapped. In a terrifying haze of madness, fueled by an uncontrollable surge of her latent Multitude powers, she committed an act so horrific it would forever haunt her soul: she took the lives of her own parents.
It was in this crucible of devastation that Dennis Longshun found her. He saw not the monster she had become, but a child utterly broken. Her powers, a terrifying eruption of her pain, pulsed around her, a testament to her anguish. Her spirit was crushed, her hope extinguished. He offered a fleeting moment of solace, a simple act of kindness in a world gone mad. A blanket, a jacket, and a scar, etched onto her left eyebrow, a stark, indelible 'M' for Multitude. Then, as quickly as he appeared, he vanished into the dust and debris of the aftermath.
