Chapter 25
From bad to worse
Captain Bella Williams, Brittany Brooke and Marianne Gleester (Multi Girl) met up with Drake 3(which resembles a flying giant moth). Drake 3 charged right at them. Marianne could tell how powerful this thing is so she insists to Bella that she can face it on her own. Brittany Brooke didn't listen and wished to join as well. Bella helped by using her Thorn powers to trap Drake 3 and keep it down on the ground. Meanwhile, Betty,Lori and Kastor were in charge of evacuating the people so that the monsters unleashed won't kill the civilians. They later met up with Drake 4(which resembles a horse). Betty wants to fight this monstrosity alone. Meanwhile,Cooper Tasters, Lucas Grohstein and Mark Anders also took part in evacuating people as well. They met up with Drake 5(which resembles a giant scorpion) eating buildings and getting bigger while doing it. Lucas decides to use his glass powers against Drake 5, but it proved ineffective against the monster.
The air thrummed with an unnatural energy, a prelude to the storm. Captain Bella Williams, flanked by the ever-enthusiastic Brittany Brooke and the acutely perceptive Marianne Gleester, found themselves face-to-face with Drake 3. It was a creature that defied earthly description, a colossal, iridescent moth whose wings, vast as sails, churned the atmosphere into a tempest with every beat. The ground trembled beneath its approach, and a guttural roar ripped from its unseen maw. Marianne, her senses a finely tuned instrument for the arcane, felt the raw, untamed power radiating from the beast like heat from a furnace. "Bella," she gasped, her voice strained, "this one... it's beyond me. I can't face it alone." Brittany, her eyes alight with the thrill of combat, stepped forward, her fists clenching. "I can help!" she declared, ready to leap into the fray. But Bella, her movements economical and precise, raised a hand. From the scarred earth, a vibrant green latticework of thorny vines erupted, thick as ship ropes, lashing out with impossible speed. They coiled and tightened around Drake 3, ensnaring its thrashing limbs and pinning its immense form to the shuddering ground.
Meanwhile, a different kind of battle raged. Betty, her face set in grim determination, worked alongside Lori Pascallian and Kastor Campbell, their focus solely on the desperate task of evacuation. The city was a symphony of screams and collapsing structures, a testament to the unleashed horrors. Their mission was simple, yet terrifying: to shepherd the terrified populace away from the rampaging monsters. As they guided a huddled mass of frightened citizens through a street choked with rubble, a new threat loomed. Drake 4, a creature resembling a nightmarish horse, its hide like scorched earth and its eyes burning with malevolent embers, materialized from the swirling dust. Betty’s gaze locked onto the monstrosity. A steely resolve settled in her features. "I'll handle this," she announced, her voice cutting through the din, her decision to face the beast alone absolute.
Further south, the chaotic ballet of rescue continued. Cooper Tasters, Lucas Grohstein, and Mark Anders were a whirlwind of motion, their efforts to guide civilians to safety unceasing. Their path, however, led them directly into the path of Drake 5. This creature was a gargantuan scorpion, its obsidian exoskeleton gleaming with a sinister sheen under the bruised sky. It was actively consuming a building, its massive pincers tearing through concrete and steel as if they were paper. With each ravenous bite, the monster seemed to swell, its already immense size growing with terrifying rapidity. Lucas, his mind a rapid-fire engine of invention, decided to deploy his unique abilities. He willed shards of razor-sharp glass into existence, conjuring a storm of glittering projectiles that he launched at Drake 5. But the assault was met with a deafening crunch. The glass shattered against the creature's impenetrable armor, dissolving into a thousand useless fragments, utterly ineffective against the monstrous titan.
