Kael reveals fragments of Anya's history, hinting at a hidden lineage and a prophecy. Anya experiences a strange resonance with ancient symbols and forgotten tales.
The air in the hidden alcove was thick with the scent of damp earth and forgotten things. Kael, his weathered face etched with a weariness that went beyond mere physical exhaustion, gestured for Anya to approach a rough-hewn stone table. Upon it lay a collection of tarnished artifacts, their surfaces dulled by time and neglect. A broken pendant, its intricate carving barely discernible, a shard of pottery bearing an unfamiliar symbol, and a brittle, yellowed scroll tied with a faded ribbon.
"These," Kael began, his voice a low rumble, "belonged to your mother."
Anya’s breath hitched. Her mother. The queen. A woman she remembered only as a warm, distant presence, a silhouette against the sunlit gardens of the palace. She reached out a trembling hand, her fingers brushing against the cool metal of the pendant. A faint tremor ran through her, a whisper of recognition she couldn't quite grasp.
