Chapter 11
The Angel's Gentle Gaze
Abezil finds himself drawn to Sheraza's fierce spirit, unaware of her demonic nature. His compassion deepens, creating a growing dilemma as he sees only a soul in need of protection and understanding.
Abezil watched her, a tremor running through him that had nothing to do with the cool, crisp air of his sanctuary. Sheraza, or ‘Shera’ as he’d so readily christened her, was a creature of contradictions, a tempest contained within a vessel of breathtaking beauty. He knew, with a certainty that bypassed all logical reasoning, that she was not like the others he had encountered, not like the ethereal spirits of his realm, nor the clumsy, fleeting mortals he so often observed. There was a wildness about her, an untamed spirit that both unnerved and captivated him.

It was a realm born of his own longing for peace, a pocket of existence where he could finally breathe, undisturbed by the weight of his duties. He had thought it would be a place of quiet solitude, a balm for his weary soul. He had never anticipated sharing it, let alone with someone who stirred such a curious blend of protectiveness and fascination within him.
“The moon-petal orchids are particularly vibrant this season,” he offered, his voice a gentle murmur, attempting to bridge the silent chasm that often stretched between them. He motioned towards a cluster of blooms near the edge of the garden, their petals unfurling like delicate, luminescent shells. “They say their fragrance can soothe even the most troubled spirit.”
