The clock is ticking. Alex must gather irrefutable proof of the manufactured pandemic before it's too late. He and Dr. Reed work frantically to expose 'The Architects' before the virus is released.
The sterile hum of the server room was a suffocating blanket, amplifying the frantic thumping of my own heart. Dr. Evelyn Reed, her face a mask of gaunt terror, hunched over a glowing monitor, fingers flying across the keyboard with a desperate, almost manic energy. Each keystroke was a prayer, each line of code a potential lifeline. The cryptic message she’d sent me, a breadcrumb trail leading to this hidden sanctuary, now felt like a ticking bomb.
“They’re accelerating the timeline, Alex,” she whispered, her voice raspy and strained. Sweat beaded on her forehead, tracing paths through the grime. “The release… it’s sooner than we anticipated.”
I paced the narrow confines of the room, the metallic tang of ozone stinging my nostrils. “How much sooner?” My own voice was tight, rough with a fear I refused to fully acknowledge. My past failure, the one that still clawed at my conscience in the dead of night, whispered insidious doubts. *This time, Alex. Don’t let it happen again.*
